New Baptist Hymnal Coming…Unlike Any Other

Baptist Hymnal

I was surprised and humbled to be asked to be a member of the Doctrine and Theology Committee for the new Baptist Hymnal due in the summer of 2008. Every Southern Baptist Church represented will receive a gift copy at the 2008 Southern Baptist Convention. Details about the upcoming hymnal will come in a later blog post. If you want to keep up to date on the latest hymnal news you can register here.

I for one am looking forward to the “New Baptist Hymnal.” It is past time for our church to upgrade and so the “New Baptist Hymnal” will be right on time for us. Thanks Ron and others for working to guard the doctrine in music so that our worship is both: in spirit and in truth!

Is there any chance you can add MORE Keith and Kristen Getty/Stuart Townend Hymns? I know In Christ alone is included but there are about 20 other amazing, Bible saturated, traditional hymns that would be fantastic. My church sings them and they are VERY traditional. (Jesus Is Lord; Speak, O Lord; O, to See the Dawn; My Heart is filled with thankfulness; Behold the Lamb-communion hymn; See, What a morning; Hear the Call of the Kingdom; You’re the Word of God the Father; The Risen Christ; and many more)

I know it is much too late for the print version, but maybe not for the downloadable songs.

Thanks. I enjoyed your first book on worship and am looking foreward to your next!

    Thanks.
